The New Dacia Duster and his Interior 2012

New Dacia Duster interior for 2012

So far interior of the SUV Dacia Duster was one of the reasons for criticism of the model.

Now the company have undertaken to respond to criticism. Although it is a cheap SUV, the interior of the current model, "cheap" seems to come in more.

Duster is marketed in Europe for about a year. Now Renault model released in South America, but its brand and some change. Mostly this applies to interior and instrument panel.

The new dashboard will be used by Dacia for model year 2012 of Duster. We see a new center console, new radio and new management of ventilation and heating, but they are retained in the lower center console, front gear lever, which does not seem very practical.

It is good that at least the control buttons of the windows are returned to their traditional place of doors.

The new Dacia Duster 2012

DACIA DUSTER, REAL 4x4

Secure handling and easy control ...

Modern-road vehicles are usually quite large, but Dacia Duster does not fit that cliche. With a length of 4.31 meters and 1.82 meters wide, Dacia Duster was a compact car. Duster has the dimensions of the Renault Megane and provides enough space for comfortable travel, road and in off-road tests. However, Dacia Duster is a true off-roader, but its design is not taught.

Dacia Duster is a true 4x4. This is evident at first sight. The design of front brings a feeling of strength and reliability: the wide fenders, striking lines of the grille, and protective grill - these are all elements that issue that has serious Dacia Duster 4x4 features. Seen from the side impressed by the high ground clearance, pronounced wheel flares and protective panels - elements that invite the driver to attack even the toughest trails.

The interior embodies the core values of brand Dacia: the dashboard is modern, well lit and functional. Its design has different options depending on the version and certain parts of it can be ordered in different colors or with different upholstery.

In Dacia Duster debuted the new version of the interior "Brown Satin" and customers can order leather seats, steering wheel and gear shift knob. The designers have paid special attention to ergonomics in the interior, to make sure that the devices are located in the best way and the driver takes information from the dashboard quickly and without stress - intuitive button placement for management of 4x4 is excellent evidence this.

... with exceptional off-road capability

Dacia Duster is designed to handle all kinds of roads and terrain, no matter where in the world they are located. To meet customer expectations, Dacia Duster is available in versions 4x4 and 4x2. 4x2 option is for customers who want higher clearance and higher seating position. Naturally, certain and predictable behavior on slippery and wet areas, where, however, do not need AWD.

The qualities of the Dacia Duster difficult terrain are impressive thanks to:
- Increasing education by 210mm,
- Short overhangs (822mm front and 820mm rear)
- A serious attack angle of inclination (30 degrees forward, 23 degrees in overcoming the obstacle across and 36 degrees down from the slope of the flat).

Dacia Duster is easy to operate vehicle. For its size is unexpectedly light Duster: 1160 kg for the 4x2 version and 1,250 kg for 4x4 versions. Together with the compact size of the Dacia Duster, this means that the car is quite nimble.

Dacia Duster e built the platform B0/Logan, which has already proven its strength, reliability and durability.
Front suspension is a type of pseudo MacPherson, identical-design used in Logan and Sandero, but has been enhanced for off-road adventures.

Rear, version 4x4 rear multilink suspension is specially designed for Dacia Duster, a 4x2 version in used H-beams with programmable deformation strong enough and reliable solution that does not take place and allows a greater volume of trunk, which is important feature for customers of Dacia.
Both solutions provide convenient and safe travel and high ground clearance.
In the course of the pre-testing prototypes of the Dacia Duster are catapulted Alicia test run, which amounts to 4 million miles of operation in various climatic conditions, most of which are extremely harsh.

Dacia Duster 4x4 is equipped with a new 6-speed gearbox with short first gear (5.79 km / h 1000 r / min), allowing the car to run at very low speed on uneven terrain also helps to easier starting when starting from a place with heavy car or a steep slope. This simple but effective and economical solution is designed to fully meet customer expectations of the Dacia Duster.
TL8 gearbox is characterized by:

- Optimize power delivery - do not require changes in the architecture of the transmission, which limits the number of shift gears and use a lubricant with low viscosity;
- Compact size: gearbox module and gearshift are placed side by side, freeing additional space in the vehicle.
- Controlled weight: in the gearbox TL8, short first gear used for transfer case, optimizing the number of gear (hence the weight of the transmission itself) for better performance;
- Lower production costs: gearbox TL8 derivative transmission TL4, which is produced in large series in the alliance Renault-Nissan.
TL8 gearbox is manufactured in Pitesti factory in Romania.

The control key management system 4x4, located at the bottom of the center console allows the driver of the Dacia Duster 4x4 to easily change the configuration of the drive according to what he needs right now.
The system works in three modes:

- AUTO, the distribution of power between front and rear wheels is automatically calculated as a function of available grip. This mode is designed to give the driver the best compromise between road holding and stability, no matter the level of adhesion. In normal conditions, power is transmitted only the front wheels. If traction is reduced, it is part of the power is directed to the rear wheels. This allocation is performed by electromagnetic converter supplied by Nissan.

- LOCK, the driver electronically locks the transmission in 4x4 mode. In this mode, the control of the throttle and the brakes work well adapted to the requirements of the system 4x4. This mode is recommended for permanent bad conditions and poor traction (snow, mud, dirt road, sand) and low speed.
2WD, gearbox transmits the engine power the front wheels. This mode is suitable for operation of the vehicle good roads and provides fuel economy and lower levels of CO2.

100% DACIA 4x4 WITH ALL THE ADVANTAGES OF BRAND

Duster is the sixth model in the Dacia range as not true to the philosophy and strengths of the brand. Dacia Duster offers customers unmatched interior dimensions for this price and low running costs thanks to lower fuel consumption, low maintenance, high security and reliability in all weather conditions. Duster perfectly meets the basic characteristics of the brand that helped build the image of Dacia - impressive space and affordable.

Space unattainable at this price

Although the price of Dacia Duster is like a city car, its size - the exterior and interior are like a compact car from the higher class.

In Dacia Duster can travel comfortably to five adult passengers and space for passengers front and rear in sedan Dacia Logan.

The volume of the trunk of the Dacia Duster - to 475 liters (depending on the version) - is impressive, given the compact size of the car. In the rear seat folded, cargo space in Dacia Duster increased to 1636 liters (depending on version).

Reliable, economical and ecological engines

Dacia Duster comes with a range of three engines in versions 4x2 and 4x4: one petrol engine (1.6 16V 105) and two diesel engines (dCi 85 and dCi 110). The strengths of these engines are already proven as the motors used in many models of group Renault.
These engines are perfect customer requirements for cost, reliability and maintainability, which are among the hallmarks of the brand Dacia.

Dacia Duster comes with two diesel engines - dCi 85 (63kW) and dCi 110 (80kW) - have already won recognition from clients with their dynamic performance and low fuel consumption.
- Dacia Duster dCi 85 (version 4x2) only emits 135 g CO2/km (combined average fuel consumption of 5.1 liters per 100 km), which means that the model meets the requirements of the standard Dacia eco ².
- Dacia Duster dCi 110 version 4x2, emits just 139 g CO2/km (equivalent to a combined fuel consumption of 5.3 liters per 100 km) and also meets the requirements of the Dacia eco ². In the 4x4 versions of Dacia Duster, the dCi 110 engine is characterized by low levels of greenhouse gas emissions and lower fuel consumption, unusual for off-road vehicle. The level of emitted CO2 is 145 g / km and fuel consumption averages 5.6 liters per 100 km (combined cycle). The dCi 110 engine complies with Euro 5 and comes with a particulate filter.

The maximum power of dCi 110 diesel engine is 80kW (109 hp) at 4000 rev / min and is equipped with second generation common rail injection system fuel. It is notable that the fuel injection pressure falls just the right amount necessary for optimum engine performance, which means lower operating costs and lower fuel consumption. 4x2 version of Dacia Duster dCi 110 accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h for 11.8 seconds and the maximum engine torque is 240 Nm at 1750 r / min, 90% are available to the driver even at 1500 rpm / min

Dacia Duster is available with a petrol 1.6 16V 105:
- Dacia Duster 1.6 16V 105 has an output of 77kW (105 hp) at 5750 rev / min and the maximum engine torque is 148 Nm (at 3750 r / min). The average cost of the car with this engine combined cycle 4x2 version of Dacia Duster 1.6 16V 105 is 7.5 liters per 100 km. The average combined cost of the 4x4 version of Dacia Duster 1.6 16V engine with 105 (qualifying Euro 5) is 8 liters per 100 km.

For the first time in the Dacia range in Duster dci 110 system using OCS (Oil Control System), which warns the driver with a light signal to bring the need for technical review. This is a system that is controlled directly by computer control engine as the decision taken by the system is based not only on simple counting of time or mileage, and analysis of operating modes of the engine.

Security - an important priority

In Dacia Duster used Renault's achievements in the field of security.
- In terms of active safety, Dacia Duster has ABS system Bosch 8.1, as well as EBV system with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist for EBA emergency. Dacia Duster is the first model with the ESR system, which is available as an option in certain versions, as well as with CSV understeer control and ASR traction control system. This option allows power to be transferred from a scrolling wheel on 4x4 versions to improve traction when it appears scroll wheel diagonally.

- In terms of passive safety, Dacia Duster offers customers as standard equipment two front airbags (depending on market) and three-point seat belts with force limiters for front seats, which can be added pyrotechnic pretensioners. Depending on the version, in addition to front airbags offer two side airbags, a "curtain".

Characteristic of Dacia: reliability and robustness

Like all cars built on the platform B0/Logan, Duster is designed to demonstrate the characteristics of the brand: strength and reliability.

Special attention is paid to corrosion protection through several measures:

- Injecting protective wax into the holes in the chassis and empty sections of the chassis
- Sealing resin external points of welding

- Additional treatment with a protective wax on the mechanical components in the chassis
- Additional protection of the chassis, sills and wings.

4x4 system uses tried and trusted components produced by the Alliance (rear axle from Nissan and links to it, the new 6-speed gearbox TL8, built around TL4, which has already proven itself in the product range of Renault and Nissan).

To emphasize the high quality of assembly of the Dacia Duster, the car comes with 3 years warranty or 100,000 km of the majority of European markets.

CAR WITH INTERNATIONAL AMBITIONS

Duster is a car with international ambitions, both in terms of markets, and in terms of production. Dacia Duster debuted in markets around the world, where we present successful models of brand Logan and Sandero.

From April 2010, Duster is available under the Dacia brand in Europe, Turkey, Algeria and Morocco. The model complements the Dacia range in these markets, which constantly record sales growth. Besides the three models for "private sector" - Logan, Logan MCV and Sandero - Dacia occurs successfully in commercial vehicle segment with Logan Van and Logan Pick Up.

Since June 2010, Duster - branded Renault - will be sold in Ukraine, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt and other African countries.

In Pitesti plant will produce cars for all these markets, no matter under what brand will sell them Duster. The Romanian plant is 350,000 vehicles per year production capacity and will continue to produce other models.
In 2011, Renault Duster will debut in Brazil, Russia and the Gulf States. Duster will be produced along with Logan, Sandero and Sandero Stepway in Curitiba, Brazil, the markets in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Chile. Later plans Duster production at the plant "Avtoframos" in Moscow, Russia. For the Gulf States will be at the factory in Pitesti.

ESTABLISHMENT OF DUSTER

International project to an existing customer interest

Duster project started with a simple conclusion: the world market there is a demand for convenient, reliable and affordable car 4x4. And this search has not been satisfied. Given these realities, Dacia developed off-road model designed primarily for emerging markets. However, in project development, needs and interests of European customers were also taken into account.

- In emerging markets (Russia, Brazil, etc.), the middle class wants to own a modern car that meets their social status. At the same time, these customers need robust car that is reliable and practical, which difficult weather conditions and are not an obstacle that can handle a variety of tests (long trips, mountainous terrain, poor roads, city driving, transportation larger and heavier loads, etc.). On most of these markets dominate import SUV models, which are often too expensive for middle-class customers.

-In Europe, the success of Dacia demonstrates that there is a market for modern, reliable and affordable cars. The existing range of SUV models offered in European markets is high, but her true off-road vehicles are not so many manufacturers rely on SUVs are often too expensive and not particularly suitable for off-road use.

Design, established in France and Romania

The project Duster observes another milestone in the collaboration between Renault Technologie Romania (RTR) and Le Losange (new name of the Renault technical center near Versailles) in France. Making process of design starts in Le Losange, but from the outset of the project resources of Renault Technologie Romania are also directed to its successful development. Le Losange and Renault Technologie Romania working closely to create a car ready for production. The stage when the second group is ready prototypes (about one year before the market debut of Duster), the center of the project is transferred to Romania, to be closer to production facilities.

The design of the car created in Le Losange, along with Renault Design Central Europe (RDCE, satellite design studio in Bucharest).

Production in the main factory in Romania

Duster arrives at the factory in Pitesti in April 2009. The process of introducing the model in production is facilitated by the new production line managed directly by Renault Technologie Romania. The production line is located within the plant, which makes staff training easier. The assembly of the Duster had some changes in production lines in Pitesti: built a new workshop of bodies specifically for this model, modification of the conveyor for new engines and transmissions 4x4 and require changes in logistics and supply and storage of raw materials. Generally, when the same production line to assemble cars with six different types of compartments and coachwork.

Wise investment

Total 290 million euros have been invested in development and production of Duster model in Pitesti. This includes the cost of new transmission TL8 (mechanical 6-speed) and new engines. Of this amount, less than 70 million euros have been invested in the factory.

This project is a good example of reducing investment: less than 50% of the components used in Duster, come from other models in the Dacia range, and Renault (Examples include engine and gearbox).
The maximum production capacity of the plant in Pitesti is 25 pieces per hour Duster. Over time, Duster could reach one third of total production in Pitesti.

DACIA DUSTER in the Moroccan Rally "AÏCHA DES GAZELLES"
Dacia Duster, operated by employees of the group Renault, finished first in the class of crossovers in the rally "Aicha des Gazelles" (15-28 March), the only car race in Morocco, in which only women participate.
The route of the rally stages included in the Sahara Desert and Atlas Mountains, which was an excellent opportunity to check the durability and reliability of the Dacia Duster.

DACIA DUSTER participate in the championship ice "TROPHÉE ANDROS" with Alain Prost at the wheel
Race version of the Dacia Duster with Alain Prost driving debut in the championship ice "Trophée Andros" during the 2009/2010 season. After the final, seventh round Alain Prost finished second in the final standings of the championship.
